Some kids' cereals have as much sugar as a doughnut and have about the same nutritional value, an investigation by Consumer Reports shows.
(Naturally, Alan likes some of the worst 5 cereals and my husband likes some of the best 5).

Apple jacks and appley-Ohs, fruit loops and fruity rings, Rice checks and Rice squares, heck, even frosted mini wheats have a cheaper store brand alternative. Why no LIFE knock off? I would buy 3 boxes of life if it came in a store brand price bracket! As it is, it's like $4 a box for the 'big' box that still only lasts a matter of HOURS in my house!

We did have a good sale at a local supermarket last week where you got 7 boxes of quaker cereals (life, oatmeal squares, captain crunch) for 7.77. I noticed they had the least amount of the life cereal left when we stopped by during the week!
