I'm taking a vacation day today.

I'm taking Zoloft for PPD, and I have to see this doctor for 15 minutes once a month for a checkup. He doesn't have night hours, the best I can do is 5 or 5:30. This was fine when I was working from home, but that's over now. (It's very political and I doubt I will be able to do it even on occasion for a while now...grr.) So I was going to just leave NYC early (boss was ok with that), but decided to take the day off (I had 16 vacation days and no plans for them). I need to do other stuff like balance my checkbook which I never get to do (wiped at night, busy on weekends), so Alan's in daycare and I'm home.

Now to get off the computer and start getting organized!

That seems odd. I've been on Zoloft for, oh, 20 months now, and I've never had to have a checkup more than once every 3-6 months. What a frustration for you to have to try to balance work and doctor's schedules!

I got hooked up with the Zoloft through the hospital I had Alan at. I actually go to a "mental health" facility (very depressing) for my checkups (I had been briefly in a PPD group, but quit when I had to go back to work, no time.) The doctor thinks I have to stay on for 9 months, I started in December, can't wait to stop going, but it DID help.

Ohhh, OK. So they only plan to have you on it temporarily. That makes more sense, then, with the frequent checks.

As far as I can tell, I'll be on it indefinitely. I've weaned off it twice and both times were bad. However, I didn't have PPD so much as a return of the depression I've been fighting since childhood, so.
