Why do they run a 10 minute pledge drive at the end of Sesame Street? I thought I was running late this AM and didn't understand why Elmo's world was on at 7:30 not 7:40 (I'm so used to watching it with Alan that I know what time each segment is on). Two or three minutes would be good enough for the moms, the kids don't need it.

Our loacl PBS station promises to STOP the pledge break when they get some predetermined number of calls. And stop the whole drive when they reach a monetary goal. It makes you want to call just to get back to the show!!

Sesame Street has the largest number of viewers for any show on PBS, so they are reaching their biggest audience. The bigger the audience, the more effort put into the presentation.

I do, however, agree that 10 minutes is very excessive. Even 5 (like a commercial break) would be more acceptable.

Love,
Staci

I agree, I always HATED the pledge drive as a kid!
