Where did you grow up? New York City (to age 7), Oceanside Long Island (to age 18). Lived in Mass/NH/NY/NJ ever since (never left the northeast)
1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks? Creek
2. The thing you push around the grocery store? Shopping Cart or cart
3. A metal container to carry a meal in? Lunchbox
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in? Frying pan or skillet
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people? Sofa or couch
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof? Gutters
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening? Porch
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages? Soda or Coke (not pop or as in Massachusetts tonic)

I say soda, or refer to it by brand name (i.e., Diet Pepsi, Sprite, etc.)
I also say pecan like "pee-can" (ok that looks nasty) not pe-CAN with the short A sound. I get a lot of looks on that one.
I call sandwiches hoagies or subs, and once in awhlie I'll say "grinder" but not often (I was born in CT).
Dinner is the formal meal, supper is a quickie-on-the-go thing.
Other than that, I'm with you on your answers, except maybe lightning bug. I think I say lightning bug.
